The keynote lecture will be provided by Dr. Rene Peters, who is the Director of Gas Technology at TNO. Dr. Peters obtained his PhD from the Technical University of Eindhoven in the field of Flow-Induced Pulsations. In his career at TNO, among other roles, Dr Peters has been responsible for the department of Flow and Structural Dynamics, making regular contributions to the FIV community and leveraging know-how to industry. In his current position as Director of Gas Technology, he manages the portfolio of technologies and know-how demanded from the Oil & Gas sector.

Dr Peters will discuss the knowledge position of the Netherlands in the area of Flow-Induced Vibration and Noise, with a historical perspective. He will describe the current practice in the O&G industry to address relevant FIV risks, and will conclude his lecture with the current challenges and knowledge gaps that our community can contribute to.
